Many say they'll help, but few actually do.
A day in the life at Vidya

Learning is NOT Regular At Vidya

We undertake a holistic approach to education. For us, reading and writing only builds good students. But, mindfulness, humility and survival skills build responsible citizens.

morning assembly
Morning Meditation to Prepare Students for The Day

Morning assemblies here are not the usual queues and prayers. We want the students to relax themselves and rush themselves to class. We want them to embrace nature's quiet and brace themselves for a fruitful day ahead.

class 1
Classrooms That Echo The Essence of The Subject

Our classrooms are scattered across our campus. Each of these classrooms are hexagonal in shape to make the teacher have easy accessibility for each of the students. The students should be able to engage with her and she should be able to do the same.

drama 2
Drama Is Our Expression

We place utmost importance on drama as an art as well as an integral part of our curriculum here at Vidya. Given the growing relevance of communication in any and every professional field, we try to help our students find their ways to hone the same through playwriting and acting. Gladly, our students have proven themselves on many occasions at district and state level.

meditation 1
Yoga Is NOT a Pastime For Us

Yoga lessons occupy a significant position in our curriculum. We want our students to practice mindfulness while maintaining their health and energy to do more. At Vidya, yoga quickly escalated from being a subject to being the students’ favorite activity. So much so that our yoga teams now represent Dhemaji at top level competitions.

Survival Of The Fittest

The students at Vidya are self-sustaining in their education. While some lucky days bring in generous donors like you, on most days it is our students who build and sell their produce to help pay their teachers’ salaries. We have multiple livelihood programs for producing reusable sanitary pads, brooms, tea bags, and soaps.

game 2
All Work, No Fun?

Post school sessions are all games with every afternoon lively here at Vidya. Coordinators from different sport fields come to our school and coach our students in football, volleyball, and taekwondo. These students have gone on to represent Dhemaji in district and state level competitions.

evening assembly 1
Evening Assemblies To Bookend The Day

We organize evening assemblies right before sunset to call it a day. The objective of this congregation is to validate their hard work during the day and not hold onto anything that might’ve let them down. We want our students to start and end the day with positivity.
